Janette Giuliano Kahil is a lifelong resident of West Shokan. She has pursued various creative arts since a teenager.
Currently she enjoys oil painting still lifes, portraits and landscapes in a realistic style using traditional methods. The rainbow trout
she painted for this year's Leaping Trout project was inspired by the sign that hung in front of The Rainbow Lodge in Mt. Tremper which was owned by
Dick and Blanche Kahil, her husband's parents. Desiring to be in nature and celebrating it's beauty has prompted Kahil to paint in plein air when traveling
and wandering our back roads.
